According to China's MII (Ministry of Information Industry), 11 companies, including Taiwanese Inventec, Datang Telecom, ZTE, Huawei, Samsung, LG, Haier, Longcheer, Simcon, Motorola, and Bird, have obtained TD-SCDMA (Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) network test licenses. MII also stated that TD-SCDMA testing will enter the second phase after the completion of the first phase testing in August 2006. According to Bloomberg, the release of China's first 3G license may be further delayed until mid-2007 as TD-SCDMA testing is still under progress.
